Binder Tracker

Privacy & cookie policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

The short version: this site doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you and doesn’t collect personal information. Your checklist is saved on your own device, and nobody else can see it unless you share a link.

Who we are

Binder Tracker (“the checklist”, “we”, “us”) is a free, unofficial, fan-made website for keeping track of cards from Pokémon Trading Card Game sets. It is run by an individual hobbyist, and you can get in touch through GitHub.

Information we collect

None. There are no accounts and no sign-up, and we never ask for your name, email address or anything else about you. The checklist has no server or database of its own, so your collection and settings are never sent to us.

What is stored on your device

To work, the checklist saves a small amount of information in your web browser:

This information stays on your device. It isn’t sent to us or anyone else, and it isn’t used to identify or track you. Storing it is strictly necessary to give you the service you asked for, so under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and equivalent EU rules it doesn’t need your consent.

Cookies

The checklist doesn’t set any cookies, for analytics, advertising or anything else, so there is no cookie banner. We don’t use analytics, advertising, social media widgets or tracking pixels. Fonts and scripts are served from this website, and most card pictures come from TCGdex (see below).

Card pictures

Most card pictures are loaded straight from TCGdex, a free and open Pokémon card database, at assets.tcgdex.net. When your browser shows one of these pictures, it contacts TCGdex’s server, which, like any web host, receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type. Nothing about your collection is sent. Pictures that TCGdex doesn’t have are served from this website. Once a picture has loaded, the checklist keeps a copy on your device, so it isn’t downloaded again.

Camera and the card scanner

The Scan a card button uses your camera only after you open the scanner and your browser asks for, and you give, permission. Your browser shows that the camera is in use, and the scanner turns it off as soon as you close it or switch to another tab.

Recognising the card happens entirely on your device. The card recogniser is a small image-recognition model that is downloaded from this website, like the rest of the site, and runs inside your browser. Camera pictures and any photo you choose are processed in your device’s memory and then discarded: they aren’t uploaded, sent to us or anyone else, or saved. The checklist has no server that could receive them.

You can withdraw camera permission at any time in your browser’s site settings for bindertracker.co.uk.

Card prices and shop links

Card prices are downloaded when the site is built, from tcgcsv.com, which republishes TCGplayer’s market prices. They are then served from this website along with everything else, so looking at a price doesn’t contact anyone else. The TCGplayer and eBay UK buttons in a card’s info open those websites in a new tab only when you tap them. Once you are on another website, its own privacy policy applies.

Share links and backups

When you create a sync link, your cards from that set are encoded into the link itself, after the # symbol. Browsers don’t send that part to the web server, and we don’t upload or store it anywhere. Anyone who has the link can see the collection in it, so only share it with people you’re happy to show.

Trade codes work the same way. Your trade code holds the cards and copy counts in every set you’re collecting (or the sets you choose), your goal for each set and the name you type, if any. A proposed trade link holds the cards in that trade and your name. Both are encoded after the #, so they aren’t sent to the web server. Anyone who scans the QR code or has the link can see what’s in it. When you open a friend’s code, it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Backups you export are either files saved to your own device or a sync code you copy, which holds every set you’re collecting. What happens to them afterwards is up to you.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service run by GitHub, Inc. Like any web host, GitHub receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep it in server logs for security and to run the service. We can’t see these logs. You can read how GitHub handles this information in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Children

The checklist is suitable for collectors of all ages. It doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

We don’t hold any personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You are in full control of the data on your device:

If you have a question about this policy, please contact us through GitHub. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this policy

If the checklist ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
